Jordie's LASNAI 2017 Box Lacrosse Tournament Recap: I Sucked But At Least I Didn't Get Seriously Injured

And that’s a wrap from my trip up to Onondaga a few weeks ago to play in the Lax All Stars North American Invitational. Slightly disappointing end result without bringing home any hardware. But overall, the weekend was pretty sick. I got to go from just a young Jordie who was the biggest Casey Powell fan in America.

to teammates with Casey Powell. A bond that will live on forever and can never be broken.

I got my ankles snapped in half by Lyle Thompson and Bill O’Brien taught me how to chuck some knucks. Met a ton of great people and turns out the box lacrosse community is filled with stoolies. Not that I’m surprised, it’s just a nice little reminder that stoolies are everywhere.

A few quick things before we go. 1) Quick shoutout to Casey Powell. I’m not sure how many of you know about the Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation and what they do, but it’s a non-profit that helps a ton of lacrosse players in need. Specifically lacrosse players who have been severely injured or who have become severely sick. They raise money for those families and help support them through their battles. Definitely worth checking out.

And 2) one last shoutout to Lax All Stars for throwing together a sick event. This was year 2 of the LASNAI and it’s only getting bigger. 20-some teams for 3 days of legit box lacrosse in the birthplace. Doesn’t get much better than that.
