Introducing the Only Bar In Wrigleyville with a Pool | Welcome Back to Da Bars Season 3

Welcome back to Da Bars - a Chicago video series where I review bars around town. This is our 10th episode in the series and I'm taking you to Deuces & Diamonds The Bamboo Club, less than one block southeast of Wrigley Field on Clark Street.

Originally, it was something I don't remember. Then a group of guys turned it into a multi-level amenities-based bar with the outdoor lounge. It's only become more absurd and ridiculous over the years, rapidly pivoting into consumer-demanded pop ups. Harry Potter one week. The Grinch is stealing Christmas the next.

Throughout the Cubs season it's been The Bamboo Club. Regardless of name - it serves a specific function: Large groups that want to stick together.

You know the feeling...

A group of 6 or more is in Wrigley for a Cubs game. You want to go somewhere right after and post up for a few before the shenanigans begin. There's a lot of options but only a handful of great solutions for that group size.

Bamboo is solid (funny name) because you can reserve in advance. They've got more table service than Old Crow and more 1st floor outdoor space than anyone else. Food hits and they have full beer cooler service. So forget the buckets and go for the old fashioned Coleman.

Again.

Worth repeating.

Bamboo Club is perfect for the large group that wants to stick together. It's also great for semi-work related pregames where you can't go full scumbag. There's way more space before than after on day games, so consider that if you like to move around the hour before 1:20pm first pitch.

If circumstance is right, Bamboo Club can deliver you a world class day. Maybe not a punchcard place like Nisei, Sluggers and Murphy's. But it can accommodate big numbers, and that's the driving point today. That's how I want you to see Bamboo on Clark. When the time is right, call upon Bamboo and you will not be disappointed.

As for Da Bars - obviously big thank you to Miller Lite for making it happen as always. So far we've done

Wills Northwoods Inn - CLASSIC

Sluggers - #1 in Wrigley

Timmy O'Tooles - Best NFL bar

Lotties - Best Guy/Girl ratio ever

Butch McGuires - Merry Christmas

Cody's - Dog bar

Tin Lizzy - Turtle races

Four Shadows - Saturday morning Iowa football

Joes on Weed - Concert & sports

And now we get to add another Wrigleyville option to the list

Giphy Images.

Underrated movie

We'll be back I think next week with another Wrigley location that specializes in live music. That's equally relevant for concerts as it is Cubs games as we explain next episode. Then maybe up to Arlington Heights just to get a sense of what we're working with? Why the fuck not.

Da Bars is back. This is season 3. I am Carl and I love Miller Lite so very much.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

PS - I wrote a Scouting Report on Bamaboo Club five seasons ago in 2019 it was called Deuces. Read that here and maybe time to bring back with how much that neighborhood keeps changing.

In meantime subscribe to Barstool Chicago YouTube. Tom Leigh, Harry Bogle and Danny Lantz do an amazing job, and they most certainly deserve your support.
