A Gobbler Sandwich Is Already The Best Way To Eat Your Thanksgiving Dinner, But Let's Make It Even Better With Some Smoked Turkey
Maybe you call it a Gobbler. Maybe you call it a Bobbie. Maybe you just call it a leftover sandwich. Either way, everybody knows that Thanksgiving food is always best when it's all stacked together and thrown onto a sandwich.
You've got the turkey, the stuffing, the cranberry sauce, you lather it up with some gravy and it's down the hatch. It might make a total mess but what truly great thing in life doesn't?
Now I've grown up eating Gobblers from Wawa since the day I was born. Legend has it that my first words were "gobbler" and "sizzli". With that being said, I'm not going to act like I don't think the gobbler could be...better. So I fired up the smoker, threw some turkey breast on there for a few hours, made some sausage and cranberry stuffing, whipped up a batch of gravy and made one of my own.
By the way, this is obviously a longer video since we had to go through making the stuffing and gravy. So for anyone who doesn't want to spend 19 minutes of their day watching this and just wants to skip around...
Dry brine: 2:17 - 5:20
Seasoning: 5:26 - 7:45
Stuffing: 9:25 - 12:46
Slicing & sandwich assembly: 14:40 - 17:39
And for anybody looking to smoke a whole bird for Thanksgiving and not just the turkey tits, here's a full spatchcock recipe.
