20 Dollar Chef - Jim Florentine
On this episode of 20 Dollar Chef, the hilarious Jim Florentine joins me. You may know Jim from his 7 seasons hosting VH1's "That Metal Show." Maybe one of his 6 comedy albums, as a regular on "The Howard Stern Show", one of his comedy specials, or from his work on Crank Yankers. He's one of my favorite comedians and I figured we could eat steaks and talk about what he has going on and other random shit.
This recipe is pretty simple. One of my favorite things, cooking steaks in an iron skillet. You can always keep it simple with just a little OVOO, salt and pepper. This time I also added some steak seasoning.
The potatoes and asparagus are easy to make. Toss them both in some olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl and laid out on a cookie sheet. Make sure to toss separately and add the asparagus to the potato mix 20 minutes into cooking. As the potatoes cook much slower than the asparagus.
Add some rosemary and thyme if you have some and you have a wonderful tasting side dish to accompany your perfectly cooked steaks.
Crank Yankers was so funny Comedy Central has brought it back. catch Jim Voicing characters and making hilarious prank calls every Wednesday night on Comedy Central. 10:30/9:30c.
