Tommy's Thursday Thoughts: Vol. 39 - The New Kid
-Good way to test your Uber driver: while in the car with him, open your app and text him through the contact option. See if he looks at it. If he does, tap him on the shoulder and say “Please don’t text and drive.”
-When I noticed someone got their haircut, I like to say “Bro did you get a dome slice?” It’s by far the coolest thing I do.
-If the check comes at a restaurant and they forgot to charge you for something, I always tell the waiter about it for good karma. However, I also expect that they will appreciate my honesty and say “Don’t worry about it. It’s on the house. Thanks for telling me.” Then I feel good about myself AND get a free meal. But if they just charge me for it, I feel like a total dunce for saying something.
-Nothing ruins your day like waking up and realizing you forgot to charge your phone overnight. Might as well just go back to sleep and call it a day until tomorrow.
-In elementary school, there was nothing like the buzz of getting a new kid in your class. You’d usually find out about it in advance and then a palpable excitement would build until the day finally came and you could finally meet this mysterious figure. Word would spread and people would say “Did you hear about the new kid?” God, I miss it.
-It’s crazy to think that people used to have songs as their ringtones, and it was a pretty defining characteristic for that person. Now if you have anything but the default one, you’re kind of a sociopath.
-When it rains, I’m always amazed at how many people have umbrellas. It’s almost everyone. I always forget to check the weather and basically never have an umbrella when I actually need it. I envy these people’s umbrella bringing abilities.
-I feel like nobody has ever actually slipped on a banana peel.
-The movie “Agent Cody Banks” is one of the most criminally underrated films of our time. Only a 5.1/10 on IMDB. The second one, “Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London” is only a 4.5/10. That’s truly egregious. It’s a great, fun movie that really made me want to be a kid spy.

-Why is it called a building if it’s already built?
Thank you for your time.
