Holy Shit, Francis Comes To The Wilbur Theater In Boston On May 17th

I’m a few weeks out from taping my first standup special at Boston’s Wilbur Theater on May 17th. When we announced the shows, I wrote a long piece on why this meant so much to me. I won’t rehash that, but I’ll tell you that my excitement is escalating in a BIG way. I find my palms sweating at night when I realize what’s coming, very soon. To mitigate the nerves, I’ve been getting up 10-14 times a week, writing, tightening the screws, and preparing to blow the fucking roof off. Which is exactly what I plan to do on May 17th.

I know I’m a polarizing figure. From don’t kill yourself blogs to pit bulls, Kavanaugh, and banging Frankie, it’s not always a picnic with big red. But regardless of whether you hate me or love me, I hope you at least respect the effort I put in to my work. And I assure you that I’ve worked harder to prepare for this show than anything I’ve ever done. I owe you that.

In return, I hope that you’ll come out to the show. I have one night to get this right and I need you guys there so that it sounds and looks as great as possible. And if you do come, I hope that you’ll laugh like a studio audience at a taping of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Really let it rip. Fake it. Doesn’t matter.

PS- in case you saw Amy Schumer’s latest special, she has a similar joke to my office one. And if you’re thinking I borrowed from Amy Schumer, the tape of my joke is from a year ago. I ain’t no fraud!
