#ZeroBucksThirty: Chaps And Kate Head To Seattle And Get In Touch With Their Military Roots

We had such a great time on the Starbucks tour to Seattle and not just because we were able to fuck around in the mountains, see the city, and go to a bad ass supply store. We learned so much about Starbucks and what they are doing for veterans. It’s a ton.

In 2013, Starbucks committed to hiring 10,000 Veterans and Military spouses by November, 2018. In March, 2017 they reached that goal and pledge to increase that number to 25,000 by 2025. Our commitment extends beyond hiring as they plan to dedicate 100 more Military Family Stores across the U.S. by 2022. It also includes expanded benefits, establishing places for our veteran and military family community to connect with one another, creating volunteer opportunities in their communities and leveraging their unique leadership experience to positively shape our company and our world.

Veterans and military spouses play a vital role in strengthening communities through leadership, service and active civic engagement. Veterans are more likely to vote, volunteer, give to charity and contact public officials as compared to their nonmilitary counterpart.
