DEA Agent Discusses Career Fighting The Most Depraved Mexican Drug Cartel Ever "Los Zetas"
Back this week for another huge episode of the Sitdown: A Crime History Podcast. This interview is one of my favorite pieces of content I've ever done.
I was joined by DEA Agent Leo Silva. For nearly 20 years, Leo worked on the Southern border in Texas building cases and ultimately arresting some of the most powerful cartel syndicates in Mexican history. He told the story of his career and eventually becoming a supervisor in Monterrey Mexico and together we discussed the infamous Gulf Cartel and subsequently the rise and violent reign of terror of "Los Zetas" all the way to his retirement in 2015. He detailed bombings, shootouts, seeing bodies hanging from overpasses and much more. A truly fascinating look into the depraved world of drug cartels.
