Minihane Savages Former Employer of Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, and Mark Halperin Over Barstool "Toxic Masculinity" Hit Piece

Kirk Minihane on NBC and the Persistence of Traditional Masculinity in News Media (Also Gerry Callahan Calls In)

Today on the Kirk Minihane Show, Minihane responded to perhaps the weakest attempt at a Barstool hit piece we've ever seen from NBC.

Shannon Ho, who is the homepage editor for NBC News' website, read the comment section on a Barstool blog post and called a few tenured Gender Studies professors. After this exhaustive research process, she concluded that Barstool is dominated by "conservative ideology" and filled with "hypersexualized, submissive women." All of the Bernie Bros and insanely successful women at Barstool couldn't be reached for comment, I guess.

That Ho's piece was vapid, lazy, agenda-driven, and logically unsound wasn't Minihane's biggest problem. His primary concern was the rank hypocrisy. As Kmarko pointed out this weekend, NBC is the former employer of Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, and Mark Halperin -- three #MeToo poster boys whose sexual depredations were for years enabled and hidden by other powerful men.  Yet here they are finger wagging at a media company that is run by women and has never had to run a Cosby-Lauer-Halperin type dirtbag out of town. And let's not forget how NBC News President Noah Oppenheim tried to silence Ronan Farrow's reporting on Harvey Weinstein because he was trying to option a screenplay to that morbidly obese pervert. Here's a potential story for Ho: Why is Noah Oppenheim still running NBC News considering he tried to spike a massive story about one of Hollywood's most prolific rapists all so he could make a buck on a crap movie?

Also on today's show: Minihane's former radio partner Gerry Callahan joins the show for the first time, Blind Mike has a mysterious new groupie, and the boys are ready to fall in love with this season's funniest, loveliest, and best-written new sitcom, Bob Hearts Abishola.
