If You Could See Any Band Perform Any Song At Any Point In Their Careers, What/Who/When Do You Pick?

Episode 10 - MEMORIAL DAY MAILBAG

On this week’s episode of my podcast, My Mom’s Basement, I did a solo mailbag show, and received an age-old question under the music category: if you could see any band perform any song at any point in their careers, what/who/when do you pick?

I’ll be honest, I went cliche with my answer – Led Zeppelin performing ‘Stairway to Heaven’ at Madison Square Garden in July of 1973 – but rightfully cliche, I’d like to think.

I mean c’mon, you truly can’t go wrong with that.

I rattled off a few others that initially came to mind, that included Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others performing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at the 2004 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame…

ANY Zeppelin performance of “Moby Dick”…

Nirvana performing ANYTHING from Reading ’92…

Foo Fighters performing “Everlong” or “Best of You” at Wembley Stadium…

Green Day performing “Jesus of Suburbia” at the Milton Keynes National Bowl in 2005…

Paramore performing “Let The Flames Begin”/”Part II” at Reading 2014…

…and I know that I OBVIOUSLY left oodles upon oodles of answers out in doing so, because it’s impossible to answer that question briefly and not leave a billion names/performances out, but that’s where I’m throwing to you! I wanna hear your answers to this question! So tweet ‘em to me, post ‘em in the comment section of this blog, do what you gotta do to get your picks my way. If you can, throw in the live video link as well, and if you’ve still got time after that…SUBSCRIBE, RATE, AND REVIEW the pod! It’d mean the world!
