It’s Safe To Say People In Las Vegas Like Hockey

Las Vegas has taken the hockey world by storm this year. No one really knew how it would go putting a team in Vegas. People were worried that the only people going to games would be tourists and fans who are in town to support their out of town team. If you doubted Vegas and their ability to be a sports town you must feel foolish, because wow do they love their hockey.

9:30am on a Wednesday and the entire practice arena is filled with fans just waiting to watch the Golden Knights practice. We are talking about practice. People actually took the day off from work to put on their Golden Knights gear and go watch them do some drill. This is Las Vegas we are talking about here, the middle of the desert in Nevada. And they are just going bananas over

Personally, I don’t see the appeal of going to practice. I hated practice. It stinks. Reminds me of bag skates and how bad I was. But to be honest, I love this. I love to see this city in the desert of god damn Nevada embracing hockey. I constantly blog that NHL needs to be talked about more and who has been talked about more than Vegas this season? I mean yeah, they are in the Western Conference finals and one of the best teams in the NHL. But all the theatrics, the pregames, the intermissions and the fans have been just as fun to watch. Because they really are showing how passionate they are about the game.

You got people making a day out of going to a hockey practice in the middle of Nevada. Skipping work, skipping school just to watch these guys practice. It’s insane how much they actually like this game. Basically every bar you go into on the strip the bartenders are in Golden Knights gear, they even got lady liberty in a jersey.

Imagine watching a game here? Or when the Raiders get there? Looks unbelievable.
