Brian Burke Will No Longer Be With The Calgary Flames And I Just Hope He Still Never Learns How To Tie His Tie

Calgary Flames – Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation announced today that President of Hockey Operations, Brian Burke, will be stepping back from the organization effective May 1, 2018…

…Flames hockey operations will operate under the direction of General Manager Brad Treliving, Vice President of Hockey Operations Don Maloney, and Assistant General Manager’s Craig Conroy and Brad Pascall.

Well shit. That’s a real kick in the dick. Year in and year out, one of my favorite moments of the hockey season is seeing the constant battle between Brian Burke and his tie at the NHL Draft. Just look at some of the best moments in that rivalry’s history.

But with him stepping down and leaving in May, obviously we will no longer be able to witness that glorious battle again at this year’s draft. It’s actually pretty hard to call this a “rivalry” considering Brian Burke is constantly winning all the damn time. This is Brian Fucking Burke. Do you think this man has time to string together a nice little double windsor knot? Hell no, bozo. And you should get your ass kicked for even asking that question in the first place.

But here’s where I start to get worried. Because according to Uncle Bob, it looks like Double B could find himself back in the media game once he’s officially out of Calgary.

I swear to mother frickin’ god, if TSN or CBC or whatever other station Brian Burke finds himself at tries to tell him to actually tie his tie when he’s on TV, I will march down to that studio and I will throat punch every single executive in that building. That’s not a threat. That is a promise. Throat punches for everybody if Brian Burke has to tie his tie. Test me, I dare you.
