I Would Like To Issue A Statement On Josh Allen's Problematic Tweets

I TOOK EMEKA OKAFOR AND CARON BUTLER THEY’RE NAWT BAD. JOSH ALLEN HAD SOME PROBLEMATIC TWEETS THAT I DIDN’T CATCH, YOU WANT ME TO SAY I FUCKED UP. I FUCKED UP!

In all honesty I thought I should at least acknowledge this now that everyone has dug up every tweet Josh Allen has ever tweeted and we at PMT have been tied to him since the start of the draft. Are some of his tweets shitty? Of course they are, some are really really bad and no one denies that or condones racism, I think we can all agree on that point. But as always with these things the overreaction is a little crazy. Maybe I’m in the minority here but a 13/14 year old kid saying shitty things on the internet doesn’t make a shitty person. Not saying that person couldn’t grow up to be a terrible human being, but to me it makes him young and dumb and immature, something we all were at one point or another. You can say his tweets were bad and racist and shitty while also thinking he’s probably grown up from being an immature kid online. Contrition matters, and by all accounts Josh is pretty damn sorry for this and has grown up a lot since he was 13/14. I don’t know, maybe that’s a novel concept. Maybe that also makes me a bad person too, which is fine. End of the day I see a huge difference in a kid tweeting bad things and an adult tweeting them. Kids can learn from their mistakes and grow as people, adults usually are who they are. God Forbid we give kids a second chance on things like this. But again, I FUCKED UP, ILL OWN IT, RYAN GOMES WAS 265 POUNDS OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL, I FUCKED UP.
