Kate Middleton And Prince William Welcome Third Royal Baby, Immediately Start Trending On Twitter
Source – The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a son. Kensington Palace tweeted the news shortly after 1pm, stating that the child was delivered safely at 1101hrs, weighing 8lbs 7oz.
The Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry have been notified and are said to be “delighted.”
There’s no news on the baby’s name yet, however Prince Arthur is the bookies favourite. Kate also gave birth to George, on 22 July 2013 and Charlotte, on 2 May, 2015, at the London hospital.
As is custom with the royal family, the Duke and Duchess kept the finer details of their pregnancy to themselves, choosing not to reveal the baby’s gender and exact due date. All Kensington Palace revealed in advance was that the baby was due in April.
Listen, I understand why the British people get excited over royal births. They have a lot riding on it. I’d take an interest too if I only got a new royal once every two-hundred years (looking at you Queen Elizabeth.) But after the third birth I don’t think we need to pay attention anymore. Like there is no reason I should wake up to twenty notifications letting me know that Kate Middleton is in ‘labour.’ Every news outlet in the world is talking about this kid and we don’t even know his name yet.
Royal bookies think it’ll be Arthur but I’d like to see something more creative. Maybe take a page out of the Kardashian book and name him Truth. Truth Louis. Which I just learned is the royal’s last name. I don’t know. The whole thing just seems like overkill. The only part I’m excited for is the Royal Crier announcing its name.
I’d wish them the best of luck but they don’t need it, especially the baby. He’s got it made, it’s his older brother and sister that’ll have to worry about who gets the throne. All he has to do is sit back and enjoy life. Once he turns eighteen he can start hanging out with Paris Hilton and getting drunk at the MGM. What a life. So congratulations to the newest member of the royal family on being the luckiest kid on earth.
