New Eagles CB Daryl Worley Was Arrested And Tased After Sleeping In His Car And "Being Combative" With Cops In South Philly
NBC – Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested in South Philadelphia on Sunday morning. According to NFL Network, Worley “became combative” with officers and was tasered at the corner of Broad and Pattison, right next to the NovaCare Complex, at 6 a.m. Worley was reportedly found passed out in a vehicle and 911 was called. A gun was also reportedly taken from the scene. The Eagles confirmed Worley’s arrest in a statement: “We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning.” Even without Worley, the Eagles have a stable of young cornerbacks on their roster. If the Eagles don’t like what they find in their own investigation, Worley’s days might already be numbered with the organization.
Welcome home, Daryl! Nothing like passing out in your car, fighting the fuzz, and getting tased right in the Eagles backyard. For those of you who don’t know, Broad & Pattison is right smack dab where the stadiums are in South Philly. Not sure why anyone, especially a millionaire, would choose to pass out in their car right there as you aren’t exactly inconspicuous, but I’m sure Daryl had his reasons. Like can’t a man catch some shuteye by his new workplace without getting harassed by the man? The Penn Charter alumni was probably just being a diligent Eagle and waiting patiently for the Novacare Complex to open. Yes, that was the reason. Sure.
Even with the arrest (and possible release), the Eagles still probably won that trade by sending Torrey Smith to the Panthers for salary cap reasons alone. Not the best look for Worley who was expected to contribute mightily to the secondary squad. Can’t exactly provide on the field when you’re “Being Combative” with cops and getting electrocuted off. Here’s hoping everything works itself out.
