Kemba Walker Broke Down in Tears After Becoming the Hornets All-Time Leading Scorer Last Night

Pretty cool scene last night after LeBron destroyed the Hornets by himself, Kemba Walker passed Charlotte legend Del Curry on the all-time Hornets scoring list. It’s not the greatest of franchise lists to be a top of as Kemba accomplished this feat in only his seventh season, but it’s impressive nonetheless. The crowd’s reaction when he hit that reverse layup as time expired was awesome and even better were Kemba’s emotions during the on court interview following the game. Was it a little weird all of this celebration went on following an easy Cavalier victory? Yeah for sure, but the Hornets aren’t making the playoffs and you have to acknowledge the milestone regardless.

For a guy who started seriously playing basketball during his sophomore year of high school it’s pretty remarkable the career he’s made of himself from becoming the legend that is Cardiac Kemba at UCONN to becoming the face of a franchise in the NBA. Charlotte Hornets basketball is essentially irrelevant but it’s awesome to see Kemba show that much emotion for all he’s done for that city the last 7 years. I know it’s opening day and the world is focussed on baseball (I’m stalling until 3:37 PM) but I found that pretty cool to see even if it came in a fairly lopsided game.

Fun Fact: Kemba is now 0-26 lifetime against LeBron. Crazy stat
