Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Hit A Walk-Off Home Run In Montreal Wearing His Dad's Jersey Number
Baseball is the best. Who would’ve thought that you could have a moment like this in friggin’ spring training? If you’re not familiar with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., you’d better get familiar right quick. Depending on who you ask, he’s the number two or three prospect in baseball. I say number two, because I don’t think Shohei Ohtani should count. It’s Ronald Acuna of the Atlanta Braves, and this man right here, the spawn of Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero himself.
Olympic Stadium in Montreal still stands to this day, the former home of the Expos, and the house that Vlad Jr.’s dad once wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers. In 495 career games at Olympic Stadium, Vlad Sr. hit .335 with a 1.023 OPS in 2,073 plate appearances. That’s insane. Digging in the same batter’s box as his father once did some fifteen years ago, Vlad Jr. crushed a walk-off bomb, capped off with a curtain call to put the icing on the cake for one hell of an all-time baseball moment.
Please, for the love of GOD, bring baseball back to Montreal.
