INCREDIBLE. There’s just something about listening to an announcer where you have no idea what they’re saying. It makes it sooooooooooo much better. We’ve seen it time and time again. I love Gus Johnson like any other red blooded American but not even he can match the excitement level of these guys. Whether it’s soccer goals or hole-in-ones or buzzer beaters, amazing athletic feats are better in a different language. I’m not sure why I love it so much. I think it’s because it just sounds like pure pandemonium. Nothing made me happier than the Icelandic dude screaming, “NAY NAY NAY NAY NAY NAY NAY NAY NAY NAY NAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” What does that even mean? I don’t actually want anyone to ever tell me cause I get to use my imagination instead. This is something March Madness should think about. There’s enough money in college sports. Hire a few non-English speaking announcers and just have them call games. If theres no buzzer beater, we never hear from them. If there is, UNLEASH IT. Can’t-miss idea.
