Jacoby Ellsbury Is Likely Starting The Season On The Disabled List. In Other News The Sky Is Blue

Death, taxes, and Jacoby Ellsbury being injured. What better way to spend $21 million dollars for your fourth goddamn outfielder than to have him strain his oblique and not even available to pinch run? Jacoby Ellsbury is one of the main contributors to my hair loss. This news isn’t even bad news because it allows the Yankees to have another arm in the bullpen or a bat like Tyler Austin on the bench. But it did remind me that Jacoby Ellsbury is still on this team making $63 million over the next three years to basically be a 4th or 5th outfielder. I try my best to look at all the positives on this team and block out the enigma that is Jacobo. However the fact that he hogs a roster spot on this team makes my blood boil.

I feel bad foor Clint Frazier, who would for sure have a spot on the Opening Day roster if his brain was fully functional. Here’s what a recent post on MLB.com had to say about El Rojo and his concussion symptoms.

“It’s affecting my driving,” Frazier said. “I had a couple of scary moments driving. I’m calling my cats the wrong names at times. But they look the same, so it’s hard. It almost feels at times that I close my eyes, but I’m not. I’m not reacting as quickly to things.” The Yankees initially referred to the concussion Frazier suffered back on February 24 as “mild” and let him resume workouts soon after, but clearly it’s a major issue. Consider him out indefinitely.”

So Clint basically has what Sidney Crosby had a few years back when he couldn’t function as a human being, huh? Actually bad. Tough, tough break since all he wanted was to crack the roster to start the year and further prove himself to Boone and Co. I guess that time will have to wait for the mid-season Jacoby Ellsbury injury where he hits a wall and breaks his arm.
