Eagles To Host Vikings In 2018 Season Opener For Another Prime Time Massacre

CBS – When the NFL announces its 2018 regular-season schedule, Minnesota Vikings fans will be in for a treat. After watching their team go down in historic fashion at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, who not only trounced the Vikings’ oh-so-close shot at hosting their own Super Bowl appearance but then won the Super Bowl in Minnesota, they might be forced to start the new season against those same Eagles back in Philadelphia. That’s according to SportsRadio 94 WIP’s Howard Eskin, who reported via Twitter on Monday that when the NFL schedule is released, the Eagles will host the Vikings to open the 2018 season on Thursday, Sept. 6.

FEED. ME. SKOL. What, that 38-7 whoopin’ in the NFC Championship followed by an invasion of green into Minnesota’s homeland wasn’t emasculating enough? I guess not. The Super Bowl Champions (will never get old saying that) will be opening up the season vs. the Vikings and shall be subsequently taking them behind the woodshed. Again. Maybe this time the Old Yeller treatment will be needed.

Oh, and Kirk Cousins is now leading the purple charge. Magical. Sure, Dalvin Cook will be back and the Vikings defense should be just as swell, but it doesn’t matter. Even if Wentz isn’t ready to go (if he isn’t 100% he shouldn’t sniff the field) or if Super Bowl MVP gets his Big Dick tugged to another team for a gaggle of first round picks, it won’t matter. The Eagles don’t lose at home (when it matters, screw that 0-6 shutout in Week 17 vs. Dallas). They can be actual, real Vikings from Scandinavia in Erik The Red’s prime coming to conquer and pillage everything and the Eagles will still slay them all. It’s just the way it is.

But for real though, opening up prime time Thursday and essentially getting a few days extra rest to start the season before Week 2 ain’t too shabby. It should be a good match up and set the stage for another run early. Here’s to going back to back. Stay hungry, my dogs.
