Austin Suffers Its 4th IED Attack: Two Men Hit With Nail Bomb
This situation is so damn scary. If you haven’t been following along, here’s a brief recap.
Starting on March 2nd, a person began using homemade materials to make bombs. These bombs were put inside boxes that made them look like regular deliveries.
When the person brought the package inside, the package would explode. So far, two people have been killed and others injured.
Last night, people were going down a bike path in a neighborhood and they triggered a trip wire which caused a nail bomb to go off. The men weren’t killed, but they are in critical condition. This attack came just hours after police made an appeal to the bomber to turn himself in.
That last tweet is pretty shocking. A school in the United States has to excuse absences because the threat of IEDs in the area is too high to allow school buses in to pick up children. When situations like these happen, the police, ATF, and FBI work nearly around the clock. Austin officials have responded to 750+ calls about suspicious packages in the last 2 weeks. That number is sure to jump way up. Hopefully, the officials find whoever is doing this soon. No city deserves to live in fear of a package being on their doorstep.
