Welcome to the Jon Elmore Show as Marshall Upsets Wichita State

Yeah, so welcome to the Jon Elmore show. That was one of the most fun games we’ve seen in quite some time and Jon Elmore introduced himself to America. Seriously, that was some sort of show by Elmore, who has been one of the best lead guards in the country for the last two seasons. As I talked about in the preview, Elmore is the only player in the country to put up 22-6-6. Tonight? He went up with 27-4-4 and continued to hit big shot after big shot.

This ends a weird season for Wichita State. This was a preseason top-10 team, who many thought would be a Final Four team and possible national title contender. They started the season with Landry Shamet missing the preseason and Shaq Morris missing the first half of the year. Ultimately though it was the defense that let them down again. This is a program that has been one of the best defensive programs in the country over the last five years.

But, this is all about Jon Elmore and Marshall. Dan D’Antoni continues to be the best dressed coach in America and we’re a West Virginia win away from that matchup.
