Markelle Fultz Is BACK! Well, Not Really, But At Least He Looks Decent Practicing The Sport Of Basketball On Instagram!
Well whadya look at that? Here’s a montage of #1 overall pick in the NBA shaking, baking, and making shots worthy of a CYO All-Star. Good for him. Hey, looking at this is wayyyy better than watching him get knifed in shank alley at the foul line:
Good times. But the past is the past. Just look at Fultz from the charity stripe now:
The #1 overall NBA pick is no longer shooting free throws like an abnormal toddler chucking a bowling ball! Hallelujah!
For real though, it genuinely seems like Fultz is making drastic improvements from his, ahem, “shoulder” injury that definitely, 100% surely had nothing to do with the yips. Look at him cross up and dabble over these trainers and coaches in a practice situation with no pressure whatsoever:
Those shots are actually…shots. They’re no longer throws. Even if the devolution of his shot is duly noted, there’s ZERO chance Fultz plays this year. There’s 18 games left and the Sixers currently hold the 6 spot. Why risk throwing a Fultz out there and potentially mess with his mind in pressure situations down the stretch? There’s reasons, many of them, why he was the #1 overall pick at 19-years-old. It’ll be OK. Let the kid live and sit out the full year like every other Sixers lottery pick in recent history.
For what it’s worth (legitimately less than nothing), in the Summer vs. borderline D-League players before his ankle did a complete 360 on the court, Fultz was pretty boss money honey:
Same thing at Washington. Confidence is key, and the kid just needs some swagger back. Now do me a favor and cue it.
PS – Don’t want to pile on a 19-year-old, but nobody in the Philadelphia area outside of the Eagles organization benefitted more from the Super Bowl championship than Markelle Fultz. The #1 overall pick in the NBA not being able to fundamentally play basketball should have, and still should be a greater topic of conversation. It’s kind of disturbing to think about.
