Former Eagle Clay Harbor Will Be On The Next Season Of The Bachelorette

One of the silver linings of Becca getting brutally fucked over by Arie is that now former Eagles TE Clay Harbor will get a shot at molding a future with her. And while I would have preferred Becca M., this could be another chapter for the City of Champions. The wild thing is that Clay didn’t even use his celebrity status as a backup tight end to get onto the show. From US Weekly:

The athlete, 30, is currently on the team’s injured reserve list. “Casting didn’t seek him out — he applied for the show,” a source told Us.

From the snaps he’s been sending, it looks like it’s love.

Clay Harbor was the original Trey Burton. An athletic tight end who couldn’t block for shit, but who got snaps and was sneakily productive.

Athletes tend to do well on The Bachelorette. Of course Jesse Palmer was the prototype. But Sean Lowe played QB at Kansas State. Josh Murray played minor league ball. Juan Pablo played pro soccer. Jordan Rodgers spun that thing at Vanderbilt. Even Arie was a race car driver. In a shocking twist, chicks seem to dig athletes.

Even Saturday Night Live got in on lampooning the Bachelor, using the opportunity to make a shrewd political parallel. Good show!
