Michael Shannon Watched His Movie Win Best Picture At The Oscars From A Dive Bar On A TV With No Sound

This is such an awesome picture.  I don’t even have anything to say about it really.  Nothing exceptionally witty or funny.  Just, that picture: it’s awesome.  Michael Shannon watching the movie he starred in win the biggest award on the planet, not from the 3rd row of the Dolby Theatre in a $4,000 tux, but from the bar stool at Old Town Ale House on a tiny ass TV on mute with an ice cold draft beer.

Best part is it is 100% real too.  Not some PR stunt by a Hollywood d-bag looking to appear more “common man.”  There have been stories about Michael Shannon being that dude and hitting up dive bars for years.

That East Village story makes me laugh every single time.
