Saquon Barkley Power Cleaning 405 Pounds as a Running Back Is Flat-Out Make Believe Land
Over the weekend I was running through the NFL Combine highlights on YouTube and came across this video of Saquon Barkley from a few months ago. It’s an absolute joke. Running backs should not be doing that. I am not a weight lifting expert and have maybe power cleaned only a handful of times in my life, but I do know that running backs should not be power cleaning FOUR HUNDRED POUNDS. I tried to find what NFL linebackers and defensive ends put up during this activity and it was right around the 400 pound mark with a lot in the 300s. That’s for NFL defensive ends whose game is built on strength and knocking the snot out of you. As a running back your game is built on quickness and agility first and foremost followed then by strength. Barkley has everything, he’s a freak. Good luck to any blitzing safety coming for the quarterback when Saquon is back for pass protection.
Here’s what happens when normal people attempt a lot of weight power cleaning. They faint.
Saquon does this shit with ease and when you combine his strength with his agility and quickness you get a monster. I’m excited for the Browns to pass on him.
