Chris Bosh Says He Wants To Come Back To The NBA This Year But Will Only Play For Houston, Golden State, Or Toronto
Source - Chris Bosh has always maintained the belief that he can return to the court. On Thursday, he made the leap to not only saying he was ready for a return, but ready for one now, even referencing the March 1 deadline for teams to acquire players and keep them eligible for the playoffs.
Asked which teams he might be open to joining, Bosh specifically named the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors — his “top three” teams. Pressed on which team he would join if the Raptors or Cleveland Cavaliers came calling, Bosh added, “Whoever makes me the best deal.”
Given the catastrophic concerns around Bosh’s health, it’s unclear if any team will make that offer.
Before I get into the fact that Bosh is on national television hand selecting teams he’d like to play for, let’s talk about his health. He retired at the end of the 2014-2015 season due to blood clots. The Miami Heat and the NBA’s independent medical review confirmed that it was too dangerous for him to continue playing. Despite it all, Bosh has maintained that he would like to make a return to the court. He gets into details in the full interview below. It’s eerily similar to Reggie Lewis, who doctor shopped until one finally cleared him to play which ultimately led to his death.
Obviously, you’d hope and pray that nothing like that would happen to Bosh should he decide to return but it’s worth mentioning.
That said, who the FUCK does Chris Bosh think he is? I mean, I get that he’s an 11-time All-Star and one of the best power-forward/center combos ever to play the game but come onnn. Not only is no team going to take the risk of a player dropping dead on the court, no team is going to pay what Chris Bosh wants to be paid to play in the NBA. Especially considering that players are taking pay cuts just to win. Basketball has changed too much in the past three years I don’t even think he would be able to compete. His brain may be able to keep up, but there’s no way his body could. Imagine if a guy like Kyrie or Steph got him in a one-on-one situation. His head would explode like a fembot.
I respect the fact that Chris has the balls to go on national television and say that he’s eyeing a comeback. It makes a great headline. I just hope he’s not serious. A comeback isn’t worth the health risk or the embarrassment.
