Comeback Story of the Year: Marty Bennett Recovers From Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery in 48 Hours To Play on Sunday Night Football
You have to just tip your cap sometimes to the mental fortitude these guys have to come back from having possible season-ending surgery to fix a torn labrum and rotator cuff, and then you wake up the next morning feeling good as new! An early Christmas Miracle! I don’t know how these guys do it, I really don’t. Oh wait…I do!
Martellus Bennett is the biggest liar and fraud in football history. That’s how he played for the Patriots last night and actually produced. You just have to laugh at this point for how insane of a person Marty Bennett actually is. One day he’s going after guys for taking late hits on Aaron Rodgers, the next day he’s retiring, then he’s calling out one of the best team doctors in the NFL, then he’s telling teams not to claim him cause he’s hurt, and then he’s suiting up for the Patriots on SNF. I think Marty Bennett has schizophrenia or multiple personality syndrome like the guy from Split. Whatever disease it is, he’s a crazy person.
Bennett decided to come after one of the more respectable team doctors in the NFL, Dr. Pat McKenzie. This man has a long, long history of being extremely cautious with injuries and allowing players longer than usual to return to the field. Like he pisses players off because he won’t let them comeback early. When interception machine Nick Collins went down years ago with a neck injury McKenzie didn’t allow him back on the field again because of fear he could die. Collins wanted to play but the team doctors would not allow it. The same exact thing happened with tight end Jermichael Finley and his neck injury. He practically fought the team with lawyers to get back on the field, but McKenzie stuck to his guns and wouldn’t risk it. When Rodgers first broke his collarbone a few years ago they opted to wait longer than the original timetable to bring him back. Keep in mind that Green Bay was right in the thick of a playoff race and desperately needed him as they lost game after game. McKenzie would not clear #12 until he knew for a fact he would not reinjure himself after getting hit. You’re gonna see it happen all again later in the year. The Pack are currently 5-4 and absolutely in the hunt for a wild card spot if they can squeeze out a some wins in the next few weeks. Rodgers will be on the brink of coming back from his collarbone injury around week 15 or so, but I fully anticipate McKenzie siding with caution and not rushing him back at all. That’s just who he is and that’s why players love him, he genuinely cares about them. To think he wouldn’t recommend surgery for Martellus Bennett if he needed it is honestly insane. Once Bennett got claimed by the Patriots on Friday, many current and former players came to McKenzie’s defense, clearly pissed the fuck off at Bennett for being a flat out liar. Don’t come at Dr. McKenzie you piece of shit.
Bennett actually said this after the game..
“I talked to six or seven doctors about it, and it could go either way, and it was one of those things that I felt like should get fixed,” Bennett said. “And then after trying to get it fixed and getting waived, you just got that vengeance in your heart. You’re just kind of like, ‘All right, that’s how you’re going to do it? Then f— it, let’s go ball.’”
REVENGE? What are we talking about dude. You’re a goddam liar and a fraud. Revenge on who? Fuck it, lets go ball? If you needed season-ending surgery then playing literally wouldn’t be possible. You either need season-ending surgery or you don’t….You wouldn’t be able to play football in the NFL with a torn labrum and rotator cuff if you actually had one. You wanted to play for a contender (THE contender) and were a little bitch about it. You’re the guy who leaves his girlfriend for a smoke, but that smoke got a really bad burn on her face from an accident while cooking. It was gonna take her a several months to look like she did before, but you couldn’t stand the sight of her. So what did you do? You broke up with her for that sole reason and wobbled back over to your ex, begging for forgiveness. You’re a fucking coward Mr. Bennett.
P.S. Weird how the Packers actually won a game this weekend after getting that infectious disease of a Bennett brother off the team. Incredible how you think you get such a team guy on your side at the beginning of the year and he ends up being a complete and total cancer.
