Terrifying Footage Of The Wild Fires Currently Destroying Northern California
ABC News - Dry conditions and gusting winds fueled a deadly outbreak of wildfires in California that quickly exploded through thousands of acres of forest and residential neighborhoods, killing at least 11 people and injuring over 100.
It is already among the deadliest wildfire outbreaks in the state’s history, and officials have said the death toll may go up as responders reach more areas that have been struck by the out-of-control blazes.
Terrible news out of California- eleven dead, 100,000 acres burnt, and over 1,500 structures destroyed in a matter of days. Most residents didn’t even have time to gather belongings before fleeing their homes. Meteorologists are expecting winds to slow down, which should help fire fighters contain the flames but for now the focus is on evacuations. Twenty-thousand and counting. Video footage shows what it’s like to drive through the blaze.
Terrifying stuff. People are going to need assistance. If you want to help with the relief efforts, the Red Cross provides a list of ways to get involved here. Thoughts and prayers to the people of California.
