Pro-Life Pennsylvania Congressman Resigning After Allegedly Urging Mistress To Have An Abortion

Pittsburgh Post-GazetteA text message sent in January to U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy by a woman with whom he had an extra-marital relationship took him to task for an anti-abortion statement posted on Facebook from his office’s public account.

“And you have zero issue posting your pro-life stance all over the place when you had no issue asking me to abort our unborn child just last week when we thought that was one of the options,” Shannon Edwards, a forensic psychologist in Pittsburgh with whom the congressman admitted last month to having a relationship, wrote to Mr. Murphy on Jan. 25, in the midst of an unfounded pregnancy scare.

On Wednesday, Murphy released a statement in which he says he will not seek re-election.

A text from Mr. Murphy’s cell phone number that same day in response says, “I get what you say about my March for life messages. I’ve never written them. Staff does them. I read them and winced. I told staff don’t write any more. I will.”

So Rep. Tim Murphy here is a big pro-life guy. Has been recognized by big time pro-life groups and shit for how pro-lifey he is. It’s easy as hell to be pro-life right up until your whole life is imminently collapsing cuz you busted inside the wrong chick. Life comes at you fast. Literally. (little play on words there folks). You go from pro-life to just pro-your-life and anti-the-life-that-you-conceived-by-fuccing-some-side-piece-and-nuttin-inside-that-p real fast. It’s tough man. A sad tale. I’ve actually always thought being pro-life made sense morally but kept that pro-choice door open, ya know, just in case. Way easier to swap over to pro-choice if I need to if I don’t have a trail of years and years of advocating for pro-life. That’s what I’ve always said anyway.
