"Annihilation" Teaser Trailer Drops With Natalie Portman (Check), Oscar Isaac (Check), Creepy Premise (Check)

I’m a huge movie guy but I don’t keep up to date on what’s coming, so that I can be pleasantly surprised when the teasers and trailers come out.  Nothing better than seeing a trailer pop up on Apple Trailers or float to the top of Reddit or blow up around Twitter that you didn’t know was coming.   This week’s big one is “Annihilation,” which has been filming for a while but has been “under the radar.”

Let’s run down the checklist, see if the pros outweigh the cons.

PRO:

Creepy premise.

This shot sold it for me.  Creepy AF.  What’s wrong with her?  Is she infected with something?  We just saw her in a weird Jurassic Park lookin’ ass place, now she’s behind glass being observed by 100 doctors and residents and interns, what gives?

PRO:

Can’t really tell from that shot but the IMDB cast list tells me that’s Oscar Isaac.  SKYROCKETED up my chart of favorite actors – Ex Machina, Most Violent Year, Inside Llewyn Davis, Drive, not a Star Wars or XMen guy but I’m sure if I ask Robbie Fox he’ll have been great in them.

PRO:

I can just check the Wikipedia and see if it interests me.  Plot is already all written out for me, so convenient.

SMALL CON:

Not a huge “supernatural, fantasy” guy but whatever I can still fuck with it.

MAJOR PRO:

Mentioned it 100 times, here’s 101 – Ex Machina = A+.

MAJOREST PRO:

Bae : )
