Creating A Fire Rap Song As A Supplement To Your Job Application Is Utter Brilliance

I often get asked by Stoolies how they can get an internship or job at Barstool and my answer is usually the same. Create a blog, video series, or whatever you want to do here at Barstool and work your ass off on it whenever you have free time and hope one day you catch someone’s eye. And that’s really all I know what to say because there is no science or surefire way to get a spot here. I blogged my ass off, made a Mike Francesa and Barstool soundboard, pretty much turned my Twitter into a microblog since I knew I sure as fuck wasn’t going to get a lot of clicks to my real blog, and would make Barstool-centric stuff like this and hoped it hit.

I ended up getting the job because of a lot of hard work and probably even more luck and good fortune. If I had to guess, I would say there are 30+ “content people” at Barstool HQ and there are 30+ stories of how they got where they were. It doesn’t matter if you got the green light from Dave after he saw you slinging Fran McCaffrey shirts or doing shots of liquor in your eye during Barstool Idol or making a rap video JUST like this silly son of a bitch did.

Shea Clancy, I made you, I made you. Oops sorry that’s catchy. Anyway what this guy did is just like that too. Creative, original, fun, and funny all at the same time. I’ve been singing that song in my head for the last ten minutes and would have given this guy the job just based on the Pennywise line alone. Now granted, this dude is trying to get a job with Gary Vee, who seemed as smart and driven as you would think a millionaire would be during his appearance on #MAILTIME (which appears to have been Devnested) instead of working in a fun house of maniacs. But you still have to respect the hell out of the hustle. Seeing something fresh and new like those videos is what gets people’s attention and making up your own raps is apparently what’s hot in the streets these days.

Or you can just come in as some fresh-faced kid, then impress and bend the knee to the ruler of a growing empire. Tomayto, tomahto.
