I Love The Cleveland Browns: Joe Thomas Once Had To Introduce Himself To a Quarterback in the Huddle Because He Had Literally No Idea Who It Was

So it just made waves recently that Joe Thomas broke an NFL record by playing 10,000 consecutive snaps in the NFL. It’s partly impressive because he’s never gotten hurt and partly impressive because it’s all been for the miserable Cleveland Browns and he hasn’t driven himself insane yet. Dan Patrick asked him if in all the time he’s played for the Browns if he’s ever had a quarterback enter the game that he was surprised was coming in. I mean since he’s been in the league since 2007 the Hall of Fame Tackle has seen an absurd amount of different starting quarterbacks: Derek Anderson, Charlie Frye, Brady Quinn, Ken Dorsey, Bruce Gradkowski, Colt McCoy, Jake Delhomme, Seneca Wallace, Brandon Weeden, Thad Lewis, Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel, Connor Shaw, Josh McCown, Austin Davis, RG III, Cody Kessler, and Deshone Kizer. And that list doesn’t include the random guys who have come in during the game because of injury who should never seen the light of day. Thomas reflected back once when Thad Lewis left a game and on 4th down in came Josh Johnson. Joe Thomas literally had no idea who was coming in the game and had to shake Johnson’s hand and introduce himself. The All Pro, sure fire Hall of Famer, whose job is to protect quarterbacks, a position where they dress only three men, and Thomas was clueless who was about to take the snap. The best part of the story was that Josh Johnson went on to fumble the ball on that ensuing play. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a more Cleveland Browns story in my life.

Actually just kidding, the Cleveland Browns are a road favorite this week for the first time since 2007. That is the most Cleveland Browns thing I’ve ever heard and for that I love the Cleveland Browns.
