Rhys Hoskins, You Are Making Blogging About The Phillies Too Easy
Yesterday, Rhys was in the same discussion as the greatest baseball player to ever live, Barry Bonds and a couple other guys you may have heard of, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. Today, he is being compared to a hall of fame cocksmen and the best hitter to ever walk this earth.
Most recent players with at least 37 RBI through 33 career games:
2017 Rhys Hoskins (37)
1939 Ted Williams (37)
1936 Joe DiMaggio (37)— Ryan M. Spaeder (@theaceofspaeder) September 14, 2017
Whenever the Joltin Joe and Teddy Ballgame comparisons start popping up, you know you have something special in a ballplayer. This Rhys Hoskins guy legit can not be stopped right now. Just when we thought he was slowing down, he goes and slugs 5 home runs in his last 5 games. Throw the man a fastball and he will barrel it. Hell, throw him any pitch in pitchers counts and he’ll probably barrel those too.
Everyone has a Rhys Hoskins stat. This one, to me, is the most impressive: pic.twitter.com/2WVr4xcCnP

?Just one more quick reminder. Rhys Hoskins has only played in 33 MLB games. Here is what he has done in those games.
17 HR
37 RBI
1.218 OPS
2.2 WAR
Next up, become the fastest human being alive to 20 HR’s. He needs 16 games to do it. If pitchers continue to throw him fastballs, then he will probably make them pay. If you don’t, he’ll gladly take the base you are offering him so Maikel “5-3″ Franco can roll over on the very next pitch.
The one thing I do hate about Rhys right now is how good he and Nick Williams are making the manager, Pete Mackanin look.
Stats Fact: Combined Nick Williams and Rhys Hoskins, 97 games, 26 HR, 81 RBI. Offensive spark.

Let me remind you all, Pete has nothing to do with anything positive happening with this team. He just happens to be the guy who has the sharpie and a lineup card. But, at least he isn’t Dusty Baker. Thank the lord he isn’t Dusty Baker.
Everything is coming up Phillies baby! Next season, 20 games under .500! And by 2019, Bryce Harper, Manny Machado and Rhys Hoskins back-to-back-to-back dingers. Go Phils.
