Rhys Hoskins Smashes Multiple Dingers And Improves His MLB Record Setting Pace After Visiting Camp Smitty

They overcame a five-run deficit, celebrated a win that did not exist, and surrendered another lead only to tie it with one swing. It took 4 hours, 57 minutes and two Rhys Hoskins homers to make it happen…

…Hoskins redeemed everyone with his 16th homer in his 32nd game. He smashed a 100-mph fastball to dead center with two outs in the 10th inning. When he steps to the plate, anything is possible. That is such a foreign feeling for Phillies followers. “This guy is unbelievable,” Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said. “What a bonus he’s been to our lineup. I prefer the term “Champion” or “Lionheart”. Is it a coincidence Rhys smashed dos dingers right after getting special private instruction from the man himself? Absolutely. I think not. Of course, I don’t want to take all the credit for helping Rhys Hoskins reach levels never before seen in the 148+ years baseball has been around. I’m not the one smashing 16 homeruns in my first 32 games and launching 100mph heat to dead center with 2 outs in extras. I’m just the one kind of responsible for him doing such things. Between my pure baseball knowledge, Carrabis flexing him down like a lifelong bouncer from Southie, and a midgie acting as a tee, Rhys got the best tutelage life has offer. You’re welcome, Phillies faithful.

But seriously, this is getting a little outrageous.

Carrabis and Dallas asked Rhys on Starting 9 (listen here) how he’s going to react when he can’t keep up this current pace. Not to be dicks, but because it’s basically impossible to continue doing what he’s doing at a major league level. It’s never been seen before. EVER. But as of now, there’s no slowing down his historic start. And for that, we should be grateful the Phillies are not only watchable, but maybe even competing again sooner than later.
