Now Available At Maryland Football Games - Crab Cheesesteaks
Momma, we made it. I have tears in my eyes. All my hard work, all the hours I’ve put in watching Chopped, and all the harassment I received from the internet bullies, it’s all just been vindicated. The Maryland Pride food stand at Byrd Stadium will have the Barstool Nate inspired “Baltimore Cheese Steaks” aka a cheesesteak covered in crab meat. Oh it’s true, it’s damn true.
As you might recall, in March, I was involved in a cheesesteak cook-off with Smitty of Barstool Philly fame. We were told to make it special, distinctive, and local to our homelands. So Smitty put a bunch of trash and no Super Bowl rings in his, and I made mine unique to Maryland, by adding fresh Maryland jumbo lump crab to mine. And let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS. Some people in the office couldn’t handle it. It was like they had never seen an episode of Chopped when you re-invent meals with new ingredients. Sad!
So I lost the cook-off. But to say I was devastated would be incorrect. I knew I did something special. I knew I was on to something. And now flash forward just 6 months later, my creation is being sold at Maryland home football games. Justice has been served, and it is sprinkled with Old Bay, and it tastes like beating Texas. Mmmm, mmmmmm!
