We Need RG3 Back In The League And The Chargers Are Giving Him A Chance

Straight up, RG3 doesn’t need the NFL. But the NFL most certainly needs RG3. He is the headliner. He is the page turner. He is a never ending car wreck, you don’t want to follow him, you don’t want to stare, but you need to see what happens next. Will he roll out of the pocket and bomb the ball 80 yards downfield? Will he roll out of the pocket, cut back trying to dodge a linebacker, and shred his knee like home made zoodles? Will he try to get 1 extra yard on a 4 yard scramble and take an unnecessary blow to the head, causing him to miss 4-6 weeks? You never know with him!

And then off the field stuff, obviously. The catch phrases and all his wacky absurdity that comes with the package. He’s a caricature of himself at some points, which makes it all even better.

And the Chargers, they certainly need a backup:

Kellen Clemens! Mike Bercovici! Who is Mike Bercovici?! And Eli Jenkins??? Please. This team needs a veteran QB to lead….or whatever RG3 does. Plus the comedy of him and Phillip Rivers butting heads is golden.

Oh, and spare me the “how is RG3 getting a work out and not Kaep” takes. Sorry RG3 loves America.

PS: I still believe in Griffin. I still think he can play in this league. He’s like my Tiger Woods. I’ve seen greatness. So what he’s as fragile as an egg. So what if his knee is held together by silly putty and scotch tape. He’s still the 2012 rookie of the year to me, dammit. RG3 forever.
