An Indie Wrestling Promotion Has Offered CM Punk 1 Million Dollars To Return To The Ring
TheSun-The former WWE world champion has been offered the biggest contract ever seen in UK by British organization 5 Star Wrestling to make a comeback. The company?s creator Daniel Hinkles confirmed the news today that he had made the offer for Punk.
"We've been trying to contact CM Punk on and off for well over a year. We wanted him on the first show we did in Edinburgh in 2015. I've tried going through friends in the industry, I've gone through his website and sent dozens of emails but the opportunity has never been this big. We want to offer CM Punk $1 million dollars (?770,000) to come and join the 5 Star Wrestling tour starting June 10. It's a genuine offer. We'd love to hear back from the man himself. We want to do this with him."
Calling bullshit immediately, before I even get into this blog. Legitimately not even going to pretend like this is a real offer for a single sentence. 5 Star Wrestling in the UK is a money mark promotion, and by that I mean they have a lot of financial backing, not a lot of mental backing. They'll just dump dollars into booking Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, Carlito, Drew McIntyre, and other bigger names, but not concern themselves with making money back. Now just because they have a decent financial backing, that doesn't mean they have seven figures to throw around for Phil Brooks the Walking Dead Enthusiast to come back. If they did, I don't think there's any way they could possibly make it back, especially not with the format of the tournament they're doing. The gimmick is a 128 man tournament, and they want him to do the whole tour. So obviously he would have to make it to the finals to milk every last drop out of him and his draw, but without a reputable company with more than 3,000 Twitter followers to promote the tour, it just can't happen.
