The Rays Allowed A Little League Home Run To Seth Smith Last Night
Against my better judgement, I am going to decline the option to shit on the Rays here. Yes, they were picked by many to finish in last place this season, but they’re not in last place currently. They’re actually ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays, who many picked to either win the AL East or finish in second place with a Wild Card spot.
With an 11-12 record, that’s not exactly getting all 483 members of Rays Nation feeling that playoff fever, but they are 9-4 at home (2-8 on the road), so that’s gotta be worth somethin’, no? Maybe? Perhaps the biggest tip of the cap that you could give to Tampa is that their +4 run differential is better than Boston’s +1 run differential. Still a little too early to be looking at run differential, but you’re gonna take whatever you can get if you’re the Rays.
All that being said, you’re out of your MIND if you thought that highlight wasn’t getting the Benny Hill treatment.
Oh, and the Rays blew this game, losing on a walk-off walk. Hate to see it.
