Rajon Rondo Might Have Tried To Trip Jae Crowder Last Night And Didn't Really Deny It
Go back to late January, when the Bulls were mired in absolute shit and everything seemed to be falling apart. We had the instagram war between Rondo and Wade/Butler and there were legitimate rumors that Rondo would be waived. Not traded, just straight up waived. Now flash forward to last night, not only is it apparent Rondo was very important to this team (running the offense, rebounding, helping QB the defense) but he also gives us the funniest Bulls moment in a long time. Trying to trip an opponent is a lame move, unless you don’t even really deny it. Then it becomes hilarious. So his leg got stiff and he needed to stretch right when a Celtic was directly in front of him. You ever tear your ACL? Ok, then you wouldn’t understand. Sorry, when you’re rocking a short sleeve suit, you get to do whatever you want. Those are the rules.
As for the game. The Bulls are in big trouble at point guard. MCW and Jerian Grant are so so bad and its clear Rondo impacted so many parts of this team in this series. It didn’t help that Wade and Butler looked absolutely awful (big credit to Avery Bradley’s defense last night) but the series has definitely swung and the Celtics should and do have their confidence back. Basically barring Rondo miraculously recovering or Jimmy taking everything over, I just don’t see how you can win a playoff series with Michael Carter Williams getting significant minutes. Maybe I’m wrong, I was certainly very wrong about Games 1 and 2, but this is an uphill battle when no one can run the offense correctly. Feels like a lot of Jimmy and Dwyane iso ball coming, buckle up.
