Devin McCourty And Chris Long Discuss Not Attending The White House Event With The Patriots

Found this very video very cool and interesting. I’m sure some people will hate it, some people will yell “STICK TO SPORTS” at McCourty and Long and everyone else not attending, but the fact of the matter is that these guys are extremely smart and conscious guys who have very good reasons for what they’re doing. There’s nothing wrong with hearing them out, even though they owe us no explanation.

These aren’t knee jerks and, personally, I think their reasons for not attending the White House celebration are very, very understandable. Long, in particular, when he said he’s gotta explain it to his kid one day made a lot of sense to me. I’ve obviously been anti-Trump for a very long time and I’ll totally admit that some of the people in this video made me roll my eyes, but I found McCourty and Long to be very interesting and insightful. These two guys aren’t making snap judgements due to headlines and they’re not trying to grab those headlines themselves, they’re smart guys who are making weighted decisions about what they want their legacy to be. They’re taking a stand for what they believe in and I’m sure many people will get upset about it but I can’t do anything but tip my cap. There’s no doubt that this president is extraordinarily divisive and it’s going to take a lot more of this. I’m happy that some Patriots are the ones that are going to open the door and blaze the trail to refusing his invitations.

PS – Fuck this guy. What was the point of having him in the video? Only thing he contributed is he stopped watching the Super Bowl.
