The Sister Of Isaiah Thomas Was Killed In A Car Accident This Morning
(Source) The Tacoma woman who died in a one-car accident on Interstate 5 in Federal Way Saturday morning is Chyna J. Thomas, 22, the sister of NBA star Isaiah Thomas, according to family friends.
Chyna Thomas died at the scene of the accident on the shoulder of I-5, according to the Washington State Patrol who identified her.
The wreck occurred around 5 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 near South 288th Street, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Witnesses reported that the car, a 1998 Toyota Camry, was being driven normally at first.
Listen this is a horrific situation no matter what the circumstance. Normally a touchy subject anytime a death is involved, but to a degree I understand what Isaiah and his family are going through. When I was a freshman in high school my brother flipped his car and it rolled multiple times. Real nasty shit. He ended up breaking two vertebrae in his neck, ended up getting a halo, the whole nine yards, and honestly when I saw him in the hospital I thought he was going to die. So I can sympathize to some extent with what Isaiah is going through.
In terms of basketball, absolutely none of that matters. Not one bit. If Isaiah chooses to take tomorrow off, or even the entire series, he will not catch one bit of flack from me, nor should he from absolutely anyone. In life there are bigger things than a stupid basketball series that is for damn sure.
My sincere thoughts and prayers are with Isaiah and his family tonight, I know what a devastating call that must have been to get. Truly awful stuff.
