Belichick Narrating "D-Day: Over Normandy" is Fire

Is there nothing Bill Belichick cannot do? He coaches football like Halas. Builds rosters like Auerbach. Writes letters like Lincoln. And now we find out he narrates films like Morgan Freeman.

I can tell you first hand how passionate Belichick is about this subject. At my WEEI gig when I’d get to talk to him in person during the season, I can’t tell you how many times we discussed military issues, past and present. When he took the team to the Naval Medical Center in San Diego I asked him about the visit. And he’s never been more expansive, thoughtful and emotional than he was talking about the wounded warriors who refuse to be called “heroes” because to the them the real heroes are the ones who never came back. Or the time he told us off the air about this WWII museum in Natick that I never knew existed. And he talked so long we went all the way through the commercial break and had to wave him out of the studio. And it’s all sincere, as like he explains in the clip, he grew up a military/football brat. So as much as it was an honor for the producers of the documentary to get him to do the voice over, I’m sure he’d say the honor is all his. Trust me. I know the man.

I know they give out Oscars for Long and Short Subject Documentaries, but do they one for Best Performance by a Narrator? If they don’t, they should. And we’ve found our winner.
