Seven Year Old Bowling Champ Stripped Of His Title Because His Pants Weren't Black Enough

(Source) A youth bowling tournament in St. John’s has caused a stir over the colour of a participant’s pants. Seven-year-old Grayson Powell bowled the game of his life on Saturday during a non-league tournament, putting up a high round of 171 en route to a championship win for his team of three. Grayson was given some harsh news immediately after the provincial gathering — he was disqualified for the colour of his pants. “The rule is you have to wear black pants,” his father, Todd Powell, explained. “The problem I have with it, they allowed him to bowl prior [to disqualification].”

I hope this kid doesn’t want sympathy because guess what? SYMPATHY DON’T LIVE HERE NO MO!

You wanna wear whatever the fuck you want, whenever the fuck you want? Throw your life away and become a blogger. You want to be a champion? Wear the goddamn uniform. Everyone pities this kid because it’s bowling and we’re like, “Awww c’mon, he’s really got nothing else going for him. Just let him have his 171.” But that’s not the way the real world works. You think the baseball players are showing up in cargo shorts? You think the hockey kids are running around St. John’s rinks in slippers? No. This is the sports world and the sports world has uniform rules. Ask Roger Goodell, he’ll tell you. Be lucky you only had to give your trophy back and not pay an outrageous fine.

PS – Way back when in the Barstool days, like 8 years ago when I was an intern, Dave would sometimes call me and say he straight up couldn’t afford to pay me $500 for the month, or whatever it was. $700, maybe. So Kevin called a bar we had a relationship with that’s now deceased, Tin Lizzie, and got me a guest bartending night to make a little money so I could eat. The one rule was I had to wear an all black shirt, all black pants, and black shoes. I had none of those so went out and spent like $120 on it all. Made $80 on the night (all of it came from Kevin, not a single other soul showed up to the bar) so came out only losing $40 for working, not a bad deal and you don’t see me whining like Grayson. Rules are rules and they have to be followed.
