Wake Up With Ken Griffey Jr. Robbing Luis Gonzalez Of A Go-Ahead Home Run (1998)

When somebody mentions the summer of 1998, if you’re a baseball fan, you think of Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, and their epic home run race. Nobody ever mentions Ken Griffey Jr., even though he led the American League with 56 home runs that year, his second consecutive season in which he reached that home run total. All the credit in the world to McGwire and Sosa for racking up their Silver Slugger awards and MVP votes, but while they were doing that, The Kid was winning Silver Slugger awards, racking up MVP votes and winning Gold Glove awards on an annual basis at a premiere defensive position.
