Winona Ryder's Face Was An Emotional Roller Coaster During An Anti-Trump Acceptance Speech After Stranger Things Won A SAG Award

There are two ways to look at this. First you could say this was just Winona Ryder doing Winona Ryder things. When you have been in Hollywood for as long as she has, there probably is no normal. The Upside Down is the same as real life and nothing makes sense. If you have to attend the billions of award shows in a year, it probably doesn’t hurt to get a little loopy beforehand. And if you listen to that speech in any state other than sober, you just may get mindfucked on live TV.

But I am going to say something else happened. We all saw how the world treated Meryl Streep’s speech talking down to everyone while trying to rip Trump to shreds. That mumbo jumbo doesn’t fly with the common folk. It actually probably got Trump a few new fans. So what Chief Hopper did was subtweet the fuck out of Trump by using the awesome world of Stranger Things. Basically did everything short of calling Trump a Gormogon with Eleven and all those awesome kids standing behind him. PR 101 at it’s finest. But just in case that wouldn’t make the speech go viral, they had to have a backup plan. And Winona acting like Leo in the Wolf of Wall Street after the Lemmon 714s kicked in was the perfect way to make sure this video would get legs. People HAVE to write about that type of reaction, whether it was real or fake. I mean who the fuck even knew the SAG Awards were on last night? We already had the Pro Bowl and NHL All-Star Games on yesterday. We didn’t need a bootleg award show to complete the “You think it’s fun until you realize it stinks” entertainment trilogy. Winona’s face (and dress to be honest) saved a pretty boring night on TV while also passing along the message that Hopper wanted. Kinda like when your parents would grind up medicine and secretly put it in your food. You may not agree with whether it’s fair or not, but it definitely did the job.
