Manny Ramirez Can Still Smash The Shit Out Of The Ball

That old saying that for some players, the ball just sounds different coming off their bat isn’t just a saying. Three guys come to mind when I hear that saying — Mark McGwire, Josh Hamilton, and Manny Ramirez. I’m sure there are plenty others, but those are the three that I’ve heard with my own two ears. The only thing is, the first two guys, I heard while they were taking BP. You know, during their playing days. The last one, Manny, I heard in this video. Dude’s gonna be 45 years old in May, and he’s still swinging it like he could come back in 2017, hammer 40 bombs and drive in 130 runs.

This is Manny’s first year on the Hall of Fame ballot. How do you think the other first-year guys are getting ready for Hall of Fame season? Probably sitting at home in their slippers, watching MLB Network, and eating a turkey sandwich. Oddly descriptive, but I bet I’m not far off. What’s Manny doing? He’s in the cage, still working on that stroke, which just so happens to be the greatest right-handed swing in the history of right-handed swings. So, maybe he took some steroids here and there. Who hasn’t? Maybe he tried to get a little pregnant at the end of his career. It happens. The bottom line is that Manny Ramirez is a Hall of Fame talent with or without 75% of the vote, or a plaque in Cooperstown to prove it.

Also, I enhanced the audio on that video so that the crack of the bat sounds way better. That third hack is incredible.
