Giants Fans Can Finally Exhale After Janoris Jenkins Was Cleared Of Any Internal Organ Injuries
NY Post- It looks as though Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins escaped serious injury when he took an inadvertent knee to the back and was forced out of Sunday’s 17-6 victory over Lions. Jenkins underwent a battery of tests on Monday, checking for any damage to his internal organs. The tests came back negative. Jenkins will be extremely sore, and with the quick turnaround involved with playing a game Thursday night in Philadelphia, Jackrabbit’s availability is unknown.
Jenkins lasted only 15 defensive snaps in the game. He went down on the third play of the second quarter, covering a pass intended for tight end Eric Ebron that fell incomplete. Jenkins took a knee to the back — it is believed teammate Trevin Wade got him — and remained down for a few minutes before slowly getting back to his feet and jogging off. He did not return to the game.
Good news everyone! Despite Trevin Wade’s best effort, Christmas has not been cancelled this year. Jackrabbit going down with a serious injury wouldn’t have been a death sentence for this team, but it would have been pretty damn close with JPP out until at least the playoffs and the defense carrying the water for the Giants. Internal organ injuries are some scary shit. Now granted, I don’t know how bad Jenkins’ back is fucked up or if the pain can slow him down. But I think we have to rest him against Philly, especially since it’s a short week, right? I’m just as scared as anyone of us potentially tripping up over the last two games and somehow getting fucked out of a tiebreaker scenario. But I figure any corner on the roster not named Trevin Wade will look like Jenkins when they match up against Nelson Agholor. We need Jenkins ready to rock if that Redskins game means anything for our playoff lives.
I’m not saying that buying a Jackrabbit shirt will make Janoris Jenkins feel better, but it honestly can’t hurt, right?
Also shout out to Trevin Wade and Ereck Flowers for picking up where Andre Williams left off on the Most Hated Giant list. Especially Flowers. We are at the point when I hear a ref say “Holding” in another game and immediately think it’s going to be on Ereck Flowers even though the Giants aren’t playing. We are in the Luke Petitgout “False Start, number 77″ range for Flowers these days.
And now your Moment of Ben.
