John Daly Once Threw $50,000 Cash Out His Car Window To Make A Point

GW- Daly went on ESPN Radio’s The Dan Le Batard Show on Thursday to promote Loudmouth Golf, but he also answered all of the hosts’ questions candidly. You probably think by now that you’ve heard every John Daly story. But when will you learn? Daly is a never-ending onion, as he will always be peeling layer after layer of his life. In the interview, Daly relayed a tale of how he let loose a bunch of cash in order to teach his then-wife (and now ex-wife) Sherri a lesson. “I won like $55,000 in the casino and I said (to Sherri), if you’re going to yell and scream at me about this, I threw it over the bridge going over to Memphis from Arkansas. I threw all the money out the (car) window and said, ‘You know what, if you want that money, you can go find it. But let me tell you something, you don’t have a job. You’re not working. I’m supporting you, I’m paying all the bills.’ “My buddy (then) took her to a McDonald’s drive-thru and got her two cheeseburgers and some french fries and a soda, and (it was like), ‘OK, this is how you can live from now on if that’s the way you want it.’ ”

And people wonder how JD claims he lost over 50 million dollars on gambling over the course of his life. Maybe it’s because he wouldn’t hesitate to chuck 50 grand in cash out a moving car window. Not exactly the agains of a financially responsible person. This is a perfect example of why the John Daly 30 for 30 should’ve been longer than 1 hour. It should’ve been 4 hours. Hell it should’ve been a mini series like the OJ Simpsons documentary. JD has great story upon great story upon great story. The one thing we know about John is he’ll answer almost any question you ask him. It’s the best part about him and why people love him so much. He’s a real person with real flaws but the trick is to ask him the right question. And whatever question Dan Le Batard asked him was the right question cause that’s a WILD story about him casually throwing $50,000 out a car window to prove to his wife that she doesn’t do shit. That’s some real rock star shit. It’s not the marker of a healthy relationship but it is some rock star shit. Shoutout to the person who rolled up on that $50,000 in the street and probably never told anyone. Just took it home and put their kids through college with it. I would’ve done the same thing. That’s a gift from God/John Daly. The man never stops giving.
