Is Throwing An "Interception" Off A Teammate's Shoe The New Butt Fumble?
Yesterday was another Jaguars Sunday. The team looked sloppy and the offensive play was horrific. To illustrate:
On the 6th play of the game, this bad boy happened.
But the highlight of the day was Bortles throwing it off of TJ Yeldon’s shoe for the interception. The official stat was later changed to a fumble or a lateral which makes it even a worse play. If the pick comes off the shoe on a forward pass, that’s bad luck. The fact that he tried to ground it/ throw it away while throwing it backwards, which makes it a live ball, might be a worse play than the butt fumble.
At least the butt fumble was just bad luck. This was a cognitive decision to make the worst play imaginable. The team is now 2-7. Gus Bradley is 14-43. The team is a joke.
The Jaguars are also selling opposing team’s gear in the stadium.
If you need one more image to show how bad yesterday was, check out this throw to Marqise Lee who had his man beat for a touchdown if there was a dude who could throw from third to first in a church softball league under center.
